Sight Word Play Dough Mats
Need a fun way for your students to practice sight words? Try these play dough mats!
These mats are a great way to introduce or review Dolch sight words. Pre-primer, primer, first grade, second grade, and third grade lists are available. (There is a bundle of all five lists too!) Students will have so much fun with these that they won’t even notice they’re working on their fine motor skills!
There are two words per page, which means less printing for you! Cut them apart or keep them together to practice two words at a time. These mats work the best if they are laminated or put inside plastic protective sheets. If you’re in a pinch though and don’t have the time (which happens to all of us sometimes, am I right?) you can use them just as they are! The dough will stick a bit to the paper, but it’s not too bad :)
Don’t have any play dough or clay around? Try covering these mats with other manipulatives too! Here are a few ideas:
- Wikki Stix
- Pom poms
- Counting chips
- Counting bears
- Dry cereal
- Really anything small!
